Previous experience is desired
Do you have personal experience with cancer – as a patient, relative, friend, colleague, or survivor – and also possess skills in project management and finance, along with a good understanding of Jämtland and its conditions? Do you enjoy meeting people and thrive in creating a welcoming environment? Then you might be the right person for us!
Kraftens Hus Jämtland/Härjedalen is a non-profit organization and a meeting place for everyone affected by cancer. We offer support, community, and knowledge in a safe environment where everyone is welcome.
Our house in central Östersund was inaugurated in September 2025 and is already an important place for many people. Our goal is to make ourselves accessible to all those affected by cancer in Jämtland/Härjedalen. As part of this, we are now looking for someone to be responsible for our feasibility study “Kraften framåt” and coordinate activities in our house.
Kraften framåt is a feasibility study funded by RCC (Regional Cancer Center North) based on the project Vägen framåt, an established concept from Kraftens Hus in Gothenburg and Sjuhärad.
Vägen framåt targets cancer patients of working age who have completed their treatment, and the goal of the project is to strengthen participants' power, ability, and opportunity to return to a sustainable work and daily life. The feasibility study, Kraften framåt, will investigate whether and how the project can be implemented in Jämtland/Härjedalen based on our regional needs, conditions, and structures.
As project manager for the feasibility study Kraften framåt (50%), you will:
- plan, lead, and coordinate the feasibility study according to the project plan
- collect data through dialogues and mapping in the region
- analyze how/if Vägen framåt's method works based on our conditions in Jämtland/Härjedalen.
- create and maintain contact with the region, municipalities, healthcare, associations, and other relevant stakeholders
- document the feasibility study and write reports as well as final reports
- follow up on finances and budget within the feasibility study
- ensure that the work is carried out attentively, structured, and in dialogue with the operations manager
As an activity coordinator, you play an important role in keeping the practical day-to-day operations of the house together with our volunteers:
- meet visitors and contribute to a warm, safe, and inclusive environment
- arrange refreshments and prepare the venue for activities
- support during activities and group activities
- maintain order, create a pleasant atmosphere, and manage practical tasks in the house
- be a present and reassuring person in the daily operations
We need to find a person who:
- has personal experience with cancer as a patient, relative, friend, colleague, or survivor
- has experience in project management, financial follow-up, and project reporting
- can work independently and take responsibility for the entire process, from planning to final reporting
- has a good understanding of Jämtland/Härjedalen's regional conditions
- has a very good ability to express themselves in Swedish, both spoken and written, as the role involves conversations, documentation, and reporting
It is also beneficial if the candidate:
- has experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders such as the region, municipalities, civil society, and healthcare
- has experience working in the non-profit sector and understanding its conditions, roles, and responsibilities
- has skills in ongoing bookkeeping
- has experience in similar development projects
- has experience in group activities, meeting place work, or association activities
- has worked in contexts where reception, accessibility, and relationships have been central
- has a large local network
- has a B driver's license and access to a car
Important qualities in candidates are:
- open and inclusive, with the ability to meet people with different experiences, backgrounds, needs, and conditions
- attentive, empathetic, and secure in meeting people in grief, crisis, or transition
- structured and organized, with the ability to create and maintain order in both projects and daily life
- self-driven and responsible, comfortable making independent decisions
- unpretentious and flexible, able to switch between strategic work and practical tasks
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. The most important thing for us is that you have the skills and experience required for the assignment.
The position is primarily 50% linked to the feasibility study, with the possibility of extension based on the needs of the organization and in dialogue with the applicant, but maximally up to 70%.
Temporary employment for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Individual salary setting between 35,000-38,000 (equivalent to full-time salary) based on competence and experience.
